I often get asked how I take such wide angle shots on Fyuse, and the answer is pretty simple: with a wide angle lens for my iPhone. I've written this post to talk about the particular wide angle lens I've come to love (the Moment Wide Lens), and talk about some other another wide angle lenses I've tried in the past. So, good news, guys. You DON'T have to step on strangers toes when fyusing in a crowded place. Read on. ;)
Prior to the Moment experience, I tried Olloclip's Wide-Angle Lens, but there was some distortion (click here for an example). I also tried the Mpow 3 in 1 lens, which I had a major plastic clip issue with (even a minor bump shifted it from my initial positioning). The Moment Wide Lens allowed me to capture shots with minimal distortion and the clip was secure, giving me more flexibility when shooting subjects.
Here are some examples of Fyuses I took with the Moment Wide Lens.
As you can see from the examples above, the Moment Wide Lens has been indispensable whenever space has been an issue. Another bonus: this lens is small enough to carry in a pocket or purse, so it's easy to always have this lens handy.
That's it! No voo-doo magic here, just the help of a nitfy iPhone accessory. Stay tuned next week for more Tricks of the Trade!
